Charitable organizations that help people in need in Russia

There are non profit organizations that actively assist Russian citizens in need from a base in the United Kingdom. Here are descriptions of two aid organizations which concentrate on helping Russian children and the support of the learning of science and arts.

The Human Capital Foundation.

The Human Capital Foundation is an international, non-profit, self-sufficient charitable organization with headquarters located in London and managed by Charity Commission of England and Wales.

It was founded on April 3, 2003 by Dr. Andrei P. Vavilov with the purpose of reviving the best traditions of pre-revolutionary Russian patronage of art and science.
The key mission of the Human Capital Foundation is to contribute to modernization of Russia by developing favorable settings for growth of science and supporting high-technological enterprises. The Foundation endorses appropriate distribution and usage of scientific understanding of high precedence and value for contemporary Russia.

ARC (Action for Russia’s Children).

ARC became an organization in the mid 1990’s. Ever since it has dealt with a number of top Russian charities, which have launched and carried out breakthrough services in child care and rehabilitation. The initiatives that ARC funds have changed the lives of thousands of Russian children and their families by supplying treatments, rehabilitation, legal guidance, mental support, life skillsets and expert training to day care services.

The initial objective of ARC was to provide volunteers, contributions and support to Government orphanages. In time the attention moved, as it became apparent that the prevention of youngsters joining institutional care was what was actually required. Instead, ARC volunteers started to deal with Russian aid organizations that were providing child-centered care in a community and household centric atmosphere. ARC began to supply material donations, suggestions with fundraising and assistance with grant applications, typically establishing the first link between these charities and prospective sponsors. ARC also raised its own cash and started a method of granting annual financial grants.

ARC was officially registered as a United Kingdom charity in 1997, and is now handled by Sarah Philips MBE as Director in the United Kingdom.
